Vicenza, Italy – The Association of the United States Army’s Annual Meeting and Exposition in Washington, D.C., next week will feature two presentations about Army activities in Africa.

U.S. Army Southern European Task Force, Africa Commanding General Maj. Gen. Todd R. Wasmund will introduce two separate “Warriors Corner” presentations.

On Monday at 1:40 p.m. (EST), Wasmund will join Security Force Assistance Command Commanding General Maj. Gen. Donn H. Hill and 2nd Security Force Assistance Brigade Commander Col. Grant Fawett in the Warriors Corner to discuss, “Security Force Assistance Brigade in Conflict and Building Partnerships in Africa.”

The trio will explain how the 2nd SFAB, one of the Army's newest strategic tools, supports United States Africa Command priorities to provide strategic access and influence in Africa by conducting tailored training at the tactical warfighter level.

Then Tuesday at 3:30 p.m. (EST), Wasmund will team with 207th Military Intelligence Brigade (Theater) Commander Mark A. Denton to present, “Building Army Intelligence Capabilities in Constrained and Contested Environments.”

The leaders will address Africa’s highly constrained intelligence collection-contested environment and how the 207th MIB has innovated the Africa Data Science Center to fuse open-source intelligence best practices from across the intelligence community with leading-edge data science tradecraft to fulfill operational intelligence requirements.

“Every day in Africa the 2SFAB and the 207th MIB keep America on the leading edge of influence in Africa,” Wasmund said. “Their efforts directly support U.S. Africa Command and help keep America safe. Through these Warriors Corners, we will show how they promote our security interests in Africa now and into the future.”

Warriors Corner presentations will be conducted at the U.S. Army Exhibit & Warriors Corner, located in Hall D, Booth #6927 of the Walter E. Washington Convention Center.
